Silver Prices Plunge 40% Amid Declining Demand; Potential Accumulation of 2,000 Tonnes in India

Silver prices have experienced a consistent decline over the past seven months, following a remarkable surge that saw the metals value increase more than 300% year-on-year. In January, silver prices peaked at over Rs 4 lakh per kilogram on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), marking a significant milestone in its trading history.

The recent downturn in silver prices can be attributed to various factors, including fluctuations in global demand, changes in investor sentiment, and a stronger U.S. dollar, which often inversely affects commodity prices. Analysts suggest that while the sharp increase earlier this year was driven by heightened interest in precious metals as a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty, the current correction reflects a period of market stabilization.

As of now, investors and market observers are closely monitoring economic indicators and demand trends, particularly in key consumer markets such as India and China, where silver is utilized not only for investment but also in industrial applications and jewelry production. The ongoing situation in these markets could play a crucial role in determining the future direction of silver prices.
