Supreme Court Approval Required for Delays in Appointing State DGPs Under New UPSC Regulation
The Attorney General has informed the Supreme Court that there is no provision allowing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to authorize delays in appointments. Additionally, the Supreme Court stated that states are not permitted to appoint an acting Director General of Police (DGP), as there is no established framework for such appointments.
