Under this scheme, eligible women will receive a gold loan of up to two sovereigns (approximately 8 grams) at zero interest. This initiative also emphasizes the importance of womens autonomy in managing their financial resources.
Madurai has been chosen as the launch site due to its historical significance and the need for economic support in the region. The Chief Minister highlighted that the government is committed to ensuring social justice and equality in all sectors. The initiative coincides with the state’s broader mission to uplift marginalized communities by providing feasible financial tools.
