Tamil Nadu to deploy 1,240 special buses from Chennai to accommodate Maha Shivaratri weekend travel demand
In preparation for the Maha Shivaratri weekend, the Tamil Nadu government has announced the operation of 1,240 special buses from Chennai. This initiative aims to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the festival, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state.
Maha Shivaratri, a significant Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, draws large crowds to temples and pilgrimage sites. To ensure that devotees can travel comfortably and conveniently, the state transport department is implementing this special bus service. The additional buses will operate on various routes, providing access to popular destinations where celebrations are expected to take place.
The special bus services will commence on the evening of February 17 and will continue until February 19, covering key locations that attract large numbers of worshippers. Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and utilize these additional services to avoid overcrowding on regular buses.
In addition to the special buses, the transport department has also made arrangements to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers. This includes deploying extra staff at bus terminals to assist travelers and ensure smooth operations. The government is committed to providing safe and efficient transportation during this busy period.
Authorities have urged the public to adhere to safety protocols while traveling, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing where possible. The initiative reflects the governments dedication to facilitating a smooth and enjoyable experience for all devotees celebrating Maha Shivaratri.
As the festival approaches, the Tamil Nadu government remains focused on ensuring that the transportation needs of the public are met, allowing everyone to partake in the festivities with ease.
