Tamil Nadu Cabinet Expansion: 23 Additional Ministers from TVK and Congress Sworn In; IUML Set to Join Vijays Government

In a recent cabinet expansion in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalins government, led by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), has welcomed two new members, bringing the total number of ministers to 33. Among the newly inducted ministers, A.M. Shahjahan from the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has been nominated to join the Cabinet.

This expansion not only reflects the DMKs coalition with other parties but also indicates the continuing alliance with Congress, as two ministers from that party remain part of the administration.

The government, elected in 2021, has focused on various welfare initiatives and infrastructure development since taking office. The inclusion of representatives from diverse parties aims to strengthen the coalition and ensure broader representation within the Cabinet, which is crucial given the states multi-faceted social and economic landscape.
