Telangana Government Declares Holiday on September 25 for Ganpati Visarjan

The Telangana state government has announced that September 25 will be observed as a public holiday in recognition of Ganpati Visarjan, which marks the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols following the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. As a result, all schools and colleges in the state will remain closed on this date.

Ganesh Chaturthi is an important Hindu festival celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, particularly in Maharashtra and Telangana. The festival commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesh, who is widely revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of beginnings. The culmination of the festivities is marked by Visarjan, during which the idols are immersed in water, symbolizing the cycle of creation and dissolution.

Authorities have advised citizens to participate in the celebrations responsibly, ensuring environmental considerations during the immersion process. Many community organizations are also expected to conduct events to promote eco-friendly practices during Ganpati Visarjan.

This holiday aims to allow families and communities to come together to celebrate this significant occasion in a spirit of unity and devotion.
