Temperature Exceeds 40°C in Five Districts
According to data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), recent temperature measurements indicated that four districts in north interior Karnataka and one district in south interior Karnataka experienced temperatures exceeding 40°C.
This significant rise in temperature is attributed to a combination of intense sunlight and prevailing atmospheric conditions typical for this time of year. The districts affected in north interior Karnataka include Bijapur, Bagalkote, and Gulbarga, while the district in south interior Karnataka is Chitradurga.
The IMD has advised residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, especially vulnerable populations such as the elderly and children. Authorities have also issued alerts for heightened heatwave conditions in these areas, urging citizens to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours. As the summer season progresses, continued monitoring of temperature fluctuations and weather patterns will be essential in assessing the potential impacts on agriculture and water resources in the region.
