TNCM launches gold ring scheme for newborns

Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu – Chief Minister Vijayakant launched a new initiative aimed at promoting the welfare of newborns in the state by introducing a gold ring scheme. This scheme is designed to provide a gold ring weighing 4 grams as a form of financial support to families of newborns.

During the launch event, the Chief Minister stated that this program reflects the governments commitment to improving the well-being of infants and supporting families in their early stages of parenthood. The scheme is expected to benefit economically disadvantaged families by alleviating some of the financial burdens associated with childbirth and early childcare.

Eligible families will need to register for the scheme through government health centers or local administrative offices. Additional details on eligibility criteria and the application process are expected to be released in the coming days.

This initiative is part of a broader series of programs aimed at child welfare and family support in Tamil Nadu. The government has previously launched similar schemes focusing on health check-ups, nutritional support, and education for children.

As implementation begins, officials hope that the scheme will not only provide immediate relief to families but also encourage better health practices among newborns in the region.
