Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh Raises Concerns Over Jagans Position on Capital City

In a recent statement, the Tourism Minister commented on the evolving position of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders regarding the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. Initially, the YSRCP had endorsed Amaravati as the capital. Subsequently, the discussion shifted to the concept of establishing three capitals for the state. More recently, the party has proposed a new initiative called MAVIGUN.

The Minister emphasized that the selection of the capital should not be viewed merely as a political issue but as a significant aspect of the states future and an embodiment of the self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh. This statement reflects ongoing debates about urban development, governance, and regional autonomy within the state.

The discussions on the capital have been a focal point in Andhra Pradeshs political landscape, particularly since the bifurcation of the state in 2014, which created Telangana. The choice of capital has implications not only for administrative efficiency but also for economic development and regional identity. As this dialogue continues, it remains to be seen how these proposals will shape the future governance and infrastructure of Andhra Pradesh.
