Traffic Diversion Implemented from Old to New Bridge over Kabini River on Mysuru-Nanjangud Section of NH 766, Bengaluru-Ooty Highway
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced plans to redirect all vehicular traffic from the old bridge to the newly constructed bridge. This decision stems from the necessity for extensive repairs and reconstruction of the old bridge, which has been assessed as being in a deteriorating condition.
The old bridge, which has served as a crucial transportation link, has faced ongoing maintenance issues over the years. NHAI officials have emphasized that the safety of motorists is a top priority, thus necessitating the immediate diversion of traffic.
The new bridge, which was completed recently, is expected to facilitate smoother traffic flow and enhance safety. It is equipped with modern engineering standards and is designed to handle increased vehicular load. The estimated timeline for the repairs on the old bridge will be released shortly, with NHAI encouraging drivers to adhere to the new traffic regulations during this period.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and stay updated on any further developments from NHAI regarding the situation.
