Transit Air Travelers to Bypass Immigration at Connecting Airports Soon
Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has officially launched a new facility aimed at improving the travel experience for transit passengers by allowing them to complete immigration formalities at their departure airport. This initiative was recently introduced at Varanasi Airport and is part of the governments broader efforts to streamline airport operations and enhance passenger convenience.
Minister Naidu announced that the facility will be expanded to six additional airports within the next six weeks, though specific locations have yet to be disclosed. This innovative service is expected to reduce wait times and make travel smoother for passengers who are transferring between flights.
The implementation of this facility is in line with the governments commitment to modernize Indias aviation infrastructure and elevate the overall efficiency of air travel in the country. As the program progresses, it may significantly impact international travel patterns and passenger satisfaction at Indian airports.
