Tripura Chief Minister Proposes New International Flight Routes from Agartala Airport

A proposal has been put forward to designate Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (MBB Airport) as an international airport. Proponents of the proposal suggest that the newly constructed terminal building at the airport boasts modern amenities and sufficient infrastructure to support international operations.

The terminal, which has recently undergone significant upgrades, features enhanced passenger facilities, improved check-in processes, and updated security measures, aligning with international aviation standards. The move aims to boost regional connectivity and enhance economic opportunities by facilitating direct international flights.

If approved, this designation could potentially attract more airlines and travelers to the region, further integrating it into the global travel network. The government and airport authorities have yet to provide a timeline for the decision-making process regarding this proposal.
