UPI Set to Expand Globally Through New Initiative
NTT Data Payment Services is in the process of creating a hub-based architecture designed to enhance cross-border retail payment transactions. This innovative strategy is intended to facilitate the integration of Indias Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with several other rapid payment systems across Asia. The initiative aligns with NTT Datas commitment to improving digital payment solutions globally under its Adaptis brand, which consolidates its digital payment offerings across multiple markets.
The proposed hub-based model aims to replace the traditional approach of slow, one-to-one payment connections between countries, fostering a more efficient process for international transactions. By establishing this interoperable network, both merchants and consumers will be able to conduct transactions across borders with increased ease and convenience. This development is part of a broader trend in the payment processing industry to enhance global connectivity and streamline the transaction process, ultimately driving growth in cross-border e-commerce and facilitating more seamless engagement in international markets.
