Vande Bharat Express Represents Technological Advancement for Railways with Future Focus on Bullet Trains
Fifty years following the inaugural launch of the Rajdhani Express, and more than three decades since the introduction of the Shatabdi Express, the Indian Railways has unveiled the Vande Bharat Express. This advanced train represents a significant technological advancement, marking a new era in rail travel in India.
The Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, was first introduced in February 2019 and is designed to provide faster, more comfortable, and energy-efficient travel options. With a maximum speed of 180 km/h, it significantly reduces travel time between major cities and boasts features such as automatic doors, GPS-based passenger information systems, and onboard catering services.
As of October 2023, the Indian Railways operates multiple Vande Bharat trains across various routes, enhancing connectivity and passenger experience. The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express aligns with the Indian governments push to modernize the railway infrastructure and improve public transport services in the country.
