Vizag to Host Andhra Pradeshs Inaugural India Semiconductor Mission Project
A groundbreaking ceremony for a proposed Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility in Tarluvada is set to take place on June 8. The facility is projected to attract an investment of ₹2,387.81 crore (approximately $290 million) and is expected to create around 1,000 jobs in the region.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to bolster the semiconductor manufacturing sector in India, which aims to reduce reliance on imports and enhance domestic capabilities in technology production. The facility will focus on assembly and testing processes, which are critical stages in semiconductor manufacturing.
The development of this facility aligns with the Indian governments efforts to promote Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiatives, which seek to strengthen the country’s manufacturing sector and create employment opportunities. The project is expected to attract additional investments in the region and foster innovation in the semiconductor industry.
