Youth Encouraged to Promote Rural Development at SVU Convocation
During the recent convocation ceremony at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of innovation and technology in agriculture and manufacturing. He urged young graduates to explore opportunities in Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled agricultural tools, digital platforms for financial inclusion, robotics, smart manufacturing, and logistics.
The adviser highlighted the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration in these fields, noting that combining expertise from various disciplines can lead to groundbreaking advancements. He encouraged the youth to embrace these technologies not only as career options but also as a means to contribute to India’s economic growth and sustainability.
IoT in agriculture, for instance, has shown promise in enhancing productivity and efficiency through precision farming techniques. The use of digital platforms can facilitate access to financial services for underserved populations, thus promoting inclusive growth. Robotics and smart manufacturing are transforming traditional industries, boosting productivity, and reducing operational costs, while advancements in logistics can improve supply chain efficiency, critical in a vast country like India.
This call to action reflects an ongoing government initiative to encourage technological innovation among the youth, which is seen as vital for meeting the challenges of the future workforce and ensuring sustainable development.
