ZP CEO Requests Assessment of School and College Infrastructure in Kalaburagi
Rahul Sankanur, the district education officer, chaired a review meeting in response to the recent incident involving the collapse of ceiling plaster at a local school building. The meeting aimed to assess the safety and structural integrity of educational facilities throughout the district.
Attendees included school administrators, safety inspectors, and representatives from the districts infrastructure department, who discussed the potential causes of the incident and outlined steps for immediate inspections of other school buildings.
Parents and community members expressed their concerns regarding student safety and the need for timely maintenance of the school facilities. Following the meeting, Sankanur emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe learning environment for students and announced plans for regular safety audits and maintenance checks.
In addition, the district has initiated an emergency fund to facilitate necessary repairs across affected schools. Local authorities are also looking into the possibility of implementing stricter building codes for educational facilities to prevent future incidents.
