66% Voter Turnout Recorded in Gujarat Civic Polls Despite High Temperatures

Elections are currently underway in Gujarat for a total of 15 municipal corporations, which include major cities such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot. In addition to the municipal corporations, voters are also participating in elections for 84 municipalities, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayats. This extensive electoral process marks one of the largest democratic exercises in the state, aimed at local governance.

The elections are critical for local administration as the elected representatives will play vital roles in decision-making and development projects in their respective regions. This electoral exercise is part of the states efforts to enhance grassroots democracy and ensure that local leaders are chosen to address community-specific issues.
