Government Announces Natural Farming Initiative on Over 61,000 Acres Starting This Kharif Season

The government has announced the implementation of natural farming practices across 489 clusters, with an allocated budget of ₹42 crore. As part of this initiative, selected farmers will receive training at designated Rythu Vedikas, which are agricultural training centers aimed at supporting farmers in adopting sustainable farming methods.

Natural farming emphasizes minimal intervention and the use of organic practices to enhance soil health and biodiversity. This initiative is expected to promote sustainable agriculture, reduce chemical input costs, and improve the livelihoods of farmers involved. The training programs at Rythu Vedikas will cover various aspects of natural farming, including soil management, pest control, and crop rotation techniques.

In recent years, natural farming has gained traction in India as a way to combat the environmental impacts of conventional agriculture, and this program represents a significant step towards fostering eco-friendly agricultural practices in the country. The successful implementation of this initiative could serve as a model for future sustainability efforts in the agricultural sector.
