16 Indian-Flagged Vessels Operating in the Persian Gulf with 433 Crew Members, Reports Government
In the Western section of the Strait, there are currently 16 vessels registered under the Indian flag. Among these, one vessel is transporting liquefied natural gas (LNG), while two others are carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The presence of these vessels highlights Indias engagement in maritime trade and its role in the global energy supply chain.
LNG and LPG are crucial energy sources, widely used for heating, electricity generation, and as fuel for various industrial processes. The transport of these gases is vital for meeting domestic energy demands as well as for international markets. Indias shipping industry plays a significant role in facilitating energy trade, contributing to both national energy security and the countrys economic growth.
