Tamil Nadu Governor Requests TVK Chief Vijay to Provide Evidence of Majority MLA Support

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party has secured a significant victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, emerging as the single largest party by winning 108 out of 234 seats. This election outcome highlights the partys substantial influence in the state’s political landscape.

In the assembly, the DMKs coalition partners, including the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), the Communist Party of India (CPI), and the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), have each won two seats. However, these allies have not yet reached a decision regarding their support for the DMK in forming the government.

In contrast, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has chosen not to extend its support to the DMK, while the Indian National Congress has indicated a willingness to back the party. Meanwhile, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has stated its decision to oppose any alliance with the DMK.

This election cycle saw heightened political activity in Tamil Nadu, a state known for its dynamic electoral competitions and diverse political alliances.
