Lt. Gen. N.S. Raja Subramani Appointed as Chief of Defence Staff; Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan Named Chief of Navy
Lieutenant General N.S. Raja Subramani has been appointed as the Military Adviser to the National Security Council Secretariat, effective September 1, 2025. In his role, he will provide strategic military insights and support to facilitate national security decision-making processes.
Lieutenant General Subramani brings extensive experience to this position, having served in various capacities within the Indian Armed Forces. John college graduated from the National Defence Academy, he has held several key operational and administrative roles, including command roles along the nation’s borders and in high-stakes situations.
The National Security Council Secretariat plays a crucial role in Indias security strategy, encompassing areas such as defense, terrorism, and international relations. This appointment comes at a time when India is navigating complex security challenges, ranging from regional tensions to global geopolitical dynamics.
