Aizawl District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) Meeting Held – DIPR Mizoram

Aizawl District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee Meeting Held

The Aizawl District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) convened recently to address ongoing efforts in combating HIV/AIDS within the region. This meeting, part of a series of initiatives organized by the Mizoram Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), focused on enhancing awareness and prevention strategies among the local population.

During the meeting, stakeholders discussed various programs aimed at reducing new infections and improving the lives of those living with HIV. This includes outreach initiatives, educational campaigns, and partnerships with local healthcare providers to ensure better access to testing and treatment.

Mizoram has been significantly affected by the HIV epidemic, with one of the highest prevalence rates in India. Government agencies, NGOs, and community groups continue to work collaboratively to address the public health challenge and promote a stigma-free environment for individuals living with the virus.

The DAPCC emphasized the importance of community participation in these efforts, urging residents to engage in awareness programs and support services available in the district. This aligns with national efforts to achieve an AIDS-free generation by enhancing preventive measures and treatment accessibility.
