Andhra Pradesh Approves ₹369.20 Crore for Guntur Channel Modernization
A new project aimed at stabilizing irrigation across the Krishna delta is set to benefit over four lakh residents (approximately 400,000 people) within 33 villages. The initiative focuses on improving irrigation infrastructure across an area spanning more than 33,000 acres.
The works will involve the enhancement of the main canal and its distributaries, covering a distance from 0 to 47 kilometers. This project is expected to significantly improve agricultural productivity and water management in the region, ultimately contributing to the livelihoods of the local farming communities.
The Krishna delta is a vital agricultural zone, and the successful implementation of this project will provide much-needed support to farmers, particularly during periods of drought or inconsistent rainfall. Enhanced irrigation systems can lead to increased crop yields and economic stability for the affected families. Further details on project timelines and funding sources have yet to be disclosed.
