Andhra Pradesh to Receive 750 Electric Buses Under PM E-Bus Sewa Initiative, According to Pemmasani

The state of Andhra Pradesh is set to receive a fleet of 750 electric buses as part of the Prime Minister E-Bus Sewa scheme, aimed at promoting sustainable public transport. As per the project details, the cities of Guntur and Vijayawada will each receive 100 electric buses, while the town of Mangalagiri will be allocated 50 buses. This initiative is part of a broader push to enhance urban mobility and reduce carbon emissions in the region.

The rollout of these electric buses is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, aligning with the governments objectives to facilitate a transition towards cleaner and more efficient public transport systems. This initiative is not only aimed at improving the quality of public transport but also at creating job opportunities in electric vehicle maintenance and operations.

The introduction of electric buses is anticipated to further complement the existing public transport infrastructure, providing residents with a reliable and eco-friendly alternative for their daily commuting needs.
