Assembly Elections 2026: Counting Process Scheduled; ECI Commits to Transparency

The Chief Electoral Officer reported that a total of 53,984 postal ballots have been distributed to service voters for the upcoming election. As of May 1, officials confirmed that 20,028 of these ballots had been successfully returned. Postal voting is a crucial mechanism that enables service members, such as those in the military, to participate in elections while stationed away from their voting districts. This process ensures that all eligible service voters are able to exercise their right to vote despite geographical constraints.
