Chandrababu Naidu Launches 62 Rural Anna Canteens in Palnadu, Bringing Andhra Pradesh Total to 269
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated 62 new rural Anna Canteens in the Palnadu region, increasing the total number of such canteens across the state to 269. This initiative aims to provide affordable meals to underprivileged communities, strengthening the government’s commitment to addressing food security and nutritional needs.
The establishment of these canteens has led to a total subsidy expenditure of ₹243 crore over the past 21 months. The Anna Canteens, named after the late Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), are designed to offer meals at highly subsidized rates, ensuring that low-income individuals and families have access to nutritious food.
Since its launch, the Anna Canteen program has garnered positive feedback for its role in alleviating hunger and improving the quality of life for the states poorer populations. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance social welfare and support community development efforts in Andhra Pradesh.
