Chennai Corporation Postpones New Infrastructure Projects and Cancels Tenders Exceeding ₹600 Crore

An official has confirmed that recent tender cancellations have been enacted primarily to stagger expenditures and enhance planning within the civic body. This decision aims to ensure more effective allocation of resources over time. Furthermore, the civic authority has not yet disbursed the annual maintenance funds allocated for ward-level civic repairs and sanitation efforts. As a result, several buildings, including Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHCs), are currently in disrepair.
