Praggnanandhaa by awarding him a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and a commemorative memento following his remarkable victory at the Norway Chess tournament. At just 20 years of age, Praggnanandhaa made history as the first Indian to claim this prestigious title. His journey to victory included notable wins against reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen on two occasions, as well as defeating fellow Indian chess prodigy D. Gukesh. Despite facing a challenging start in the tournament, Praggnanandhaa rebounded with an impressive four consecutive wins, ultimately leading him to secure the championship.
