Delhi Experiences Temperature Drop Following Overnight Rain and Thunderstorms
Significant rainfall was observed in various regions of Delhi during the late night to early morning hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Safdarjung recorded approximately 5.7 mm of rain in the 24-hour period leading up to 8:30 AM on Monday, while Palam registered a similar amount of rainfall, also around 5.7 mm.
The sudden downpour may have implications for traffic and daily activities within the city, as heavy rains can lead to waterlogging in several areas. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and exercise caution while traveling. According to the IMD, the weather in the region may continue to experience fluctuations as the monsoon season progresses, which typically spans from June to September in India.
