Education Ministry Accelerates Efforts for PM-SHRI Implementation in Bengal, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu Following Elections

In September 2022, the government launched a five-year initiative aimed at transforming over 14,500 schools into model institutions for the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance educational standards and promote excellence in schools across the country.

As the program approaches its completion date, the Ministry of Education has communicated to the States that there is a limited timeframe remaining to achieve the intended goals of the initiative. The NEP 2020 seeks to overhaul Indias educational framework with a focus on holistic development, critical thinking, and innovation among students.

The initiative could include various pedagogical reforms, infrastructure improvements, and teacher training programs designed to align with the objectives of the NEP. Educators and administrators are encouraged to take action to ensure that schools can achieve exemplar status by the end of this initiative, thereby contributing to a more robust educational landscape in India.
