Elder Advocacy Group Urges Response to Increasing Incidents of Elder Abuse

In observance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, awareness programs will be conducted on June 15 in the NTR and Krishna districts. These initiatives are designed to identify and address issues pertaining to the mistreatment of senior citizens, including neglect, financial exploitation, and physical abuse.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, recognized annually on June 15, aims to raise awareness of the growing prevalence of elder abuse and the need for collective action. The programs will include workshops, informational sessions, and community discussions that focus on educating the public about the signs of elder abuse and the importance of safeguarding the rights and dignity of older adults.

Stakeholders, including local government representatives, non-profit organizations, and elder advocacy groups, will participate in these programs to foster a supportive environment for seniors and to encourage community engagement in preventing elder abuse.
