Expert Raises Concerns Over Potential Conflict of Interest in Search Panel Involving Sitting Vice-Chancellor

The Department of Agriculture has established a search committee, as per a notification issued on May 14, to identify and recommend qualified candidates for the position of Vice-Chancellor at the Karnataka Sate Namadhari University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (KSNUAHS) in Shivamogga.

The initiative aims to ensure a thorough selection process for the leadership role which is crucial for guiding the universitys academic and administrative functions. The committee is expected to evaluate candidates based on their experience, qualifications, and contributions to the field of agricultural sciences.

KSNUAHS plays a significant role in advancing education, research, and extension services in agriculture and horticulture in Karnataka, located in Shivamogga District. The appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor is anticipated to drive strategic initiatives and enhance the institutions reputation in agricultural education and research. Following the completion of the search process, the committee will present its recommendations to the Department of Agriculture for final consideration.
