Exploring Mangav: A Distinctive Maharashtra Village for Abandoned Women and Their Children
Mangav, established by Dr. Rajendra and Dr. Sucheta Dhamane, serves as a rehabilitation center for 477 women and 43 children who have been rescued from challenging circumstances. The residents engage in various productive activities, including operating a bakery and managing agricultural and dairy operations. These initiatives are designed to empower individuals and promote self-sufficiency within the community. In addition, Mangav is preparing to launch a highway café, which will provide both a source of income and an opportunity for residents to gain valuable work experience. This multifaceted approach not only aims to facilitate the rehabilitation of its residents but also fosters a sense of community and belonging.
