Farmers Organizations Criticize Increases in Fuel, Fertilizer, and Aqua Feed Prices in Andhra Pradesh

Koulu Rythu Sangham Advocates for Immediate Reversal of Increased Aquaculture Feed Prices and Seeks Urea Cards for Tenant Farmers

The Koulu Rythu Sangham, an organization representing farmers, has called for the urgent rollback of recently increased prices of aquaculture feed and associated inputs. The groups leaders have expressed concern about the financial burden that these price hikes impose on both small-scale and tenant farmers.

In addition to advocating for lower feed prices, the Sangham has urged authorities to facilitate the issuance of urea cards to tenant farmers. Urea cards are designed to ensure that eligible farmers can access subsidized fertilizers, which are critical for enhancing crop yields and maintaining agricultural productivity.

The demand for these measures reflects broader issues facing the agricultural sector, including rising costs of inputs, market access challenges, and the need for sustainable farming practices. The Koulu Rythu Sangham aims to address these concerns through dialogue with government officials and stakeholders in the agriculture industry.

This request comes at a time when farmers are grappling with adverse weather conditions and fluctuating market prices, which have further intensified the challenges faced by those involved in aquaculture and crop production.
