Government Initiates Operation Clean Sweep to Promote Sanitation Awareness

The Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, alongside the District Collector and Panyam MLA, recently inaugurated desilting and sanitation projects aimed at improving the local drainage system. The works specifically focus on the drainage canal adjacent to Ashwini Hospital and the Suddavagu stream.

These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance urban infrastructure and ensure better sanitation in the region, which is essential for preventing waterlogging and flooding during the monsoon season. The desilting process involves the removal of accumulated silt and debris from the drainage canals, which can impede water flow and lead to hygiene issues.

Local authorities aim to improve the overall health and environmental standards of the area through these projects. They emphasize the importance of maintaining clean waterways for public health and safety, as well as for the sustainability of local ecosystems. The completion of these works is expected to contribute positively to the community, especially in terms of reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.
