IISR Enters into Technology Licensing Agreements
The Institute has officially licensed the State Kudumbashree Mission to propagate and distribute enhanced varieties of several spices, including black pepper, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon.
This collaboration is aimed at improving agricultural practices and boosting the livelihoods of local farmers. The Kudumbashree Mission, known for its focus on womens empowerment and poverty alleviation, will work to ensure that these improved spice varieties are accessible to agricultural communities across the state.
The initiative is expected to not only enhance the quality and yield of these spices but also promote sustainable farming methods. By leveraging research and development from the Institute, the Kudumbashree Mission seeks to increase the overall productivity of spice cultivation, contributing to both local economies and food security.
Farmers participating in the program will receive training on best practices for cultivation and post-harvest management, and the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to promote indigenous agricultural products in global markets.
