Karnatakas Chief Electoral Officer, V. Anbu Kumar, addressed concerns regarding the voter registration process in an interview with The Hindu. He reassured the public that there will be no arbitrary deletions of voter names from the electoral rolls during the ongoing Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. The primary objective of this initiative is to identify and include all eligible voters, ensuring they are part of the electoral process.

The SVEEP campaign is part of a broader effort by the Election Commission of India to enhance voter awareness and participation. Kumar emphasized the importance of accurate voter lists and encouraged citizens to check their registration status or report any discrepancies. This initiative comes ahead of upcoming elections in the state, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring a fair and inclusive electoral process.
