Kasaragod District Administration Develops Railway Master Plan to Address Travel Challenges
District Collector Arjun Pandian has officially reached out to railway authorities with a request to enhance railway services in the region. The proposal includes extending major train routes that currently terminate at Kannur and Mangaluru to include Kasaragod, as well as the restoration of previously discontinued passenger services. Additionally, the Collector has called for increased stoppages for important superfast trains at the Kasaragod railway station, which is a key transit point in the area.
This initiative aims to improve connectivity and convenience for commuters in Kasaragod and neighboring districts, potentially boosting local economic activity and providing better access to essential services. The move comes amid growing demand from residents and businesses for enhanced transportation options in the region.
The district administration is hopeful that these changes will facilitate greater mobility for passengers traveling to and from Kasaragod, as well as promote tourism in the area. The railway authorities are expected to review the proposals and provide feedback in the coming weeks.
