Kerala Enhances Pre-Monsoon Health Preparedness to Address Infectious Diseases

Health Minister K. Muraleedharan has announced that government-run Medical College Hospitals (MCHs) have been instructed to implement measures aimed at preventing systemic failures that could lead to interruptions in surgical procedures. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the efficiency and reliability of healthcare services in the state.

In recent months, certain hospitals have experienced operational challenges, prompting concerns over the continuity of surgical services. The Health Minister emphasized the importance of proactive planning and coordination among hospital departments to mitigate risks and ensure that surgeries can proceed as scheduled.

Additionally, the Health Department is working to assess and address the underlying issues contributing to these disruptions. By establishing comprehensive protocols and staff training programs, officials aim to improve response times and reduce instances of delays in surgical care.
