Kerala Experiences Warm and Humid Conditions Amidst Limited Summer Rainfall

As of 8:30 AM on Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Palakkad experienced the highest temperature in the region, reaching 40.1 degrees Celsius. Punalur, located in Kollam district, followed closely with a recorded maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius.

This spike in temperatures is part of an ongoing heatwave affecting several parts of India, primarily in the southern states. Meteorologists indicate that elevated temperatures may persist due to the prevailing high-pressure system and lack of significant cloud cover. Residents in the affected areas are advised to take precautions to mitigate the risks associated with extreme heat, such as staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak hours.
