Kharge Submits Nomination Papers for Rajya Sabha Elections in Karnataka
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is pursuing re-election as the partys leader, with notable support from prominent party figures including Rahul Gandhi, D.K. Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah, and B.K. Hariprasad.
Kharge, who has been in office since October 2022, is vying for continued leadership amid critical party elections for the All India Congress Committee (AICC). His tenure has been marked by efforts to unite the party and strengthen its presence in various states, particularly in light of recent electoral challenges.
The support from influential party members such as Gandhi, a leading figure in the Congress resurgence, and Shivakumar, who has held significant leadership roles in Karnataka, indicates a concerted effort to maintain stability and continuity within the partys ranks. Siddaramaiah, a former Chief Minister of Karnataka, and Hariprasad, a senior leader, also lend their political clout to Kharges re-election bid.
The elections for the AICC are slated for December, with Kharges campaign focusing on advancing party agendas and consolidating support ahead of the critical electoral season.
