Monsoon Update: IMD Issues Orange Alert for Thunderstorms and Lightning in Jharkhand

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for isolated thunderstorms and lightning in all 24 districts of Jharkhand, effective July 4. This alert indicates the potential for severe weather conditions that may include heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Following the orange alert, the IMD has also issued a yellow alert for the state from July 6 to July 8. The yellow alert serves as a caution, indicating that citizens should remain vigilant as adverse weather conditions may continue.

The IMDs warnings come at a time when Jharkhand is already experiencing the southwest monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September. During this period, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety, such as avoiding outdoor activities during thunderstorms and securing properties against potential storm damage.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to respond to any weather-related emergencies that may arise as a result of these forecasts.
