Naidu and Union Ministers Inaugurate Seafood Conference in Visakhapatnam, Targeting ₹1 Lakh Crore in Exports
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, alongside four Union Ministers, inaugurated a two-day workshop in Visakhapatnam aimed at significantly enhancing Indias seafood export sector. The initiative seeks to boost annual seafood exports to ₹1 lakh crore, a substantial increase from the previous record of ₹73,890.46 crore achieved in the fiscal year 2025-26.
The workshop is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the fisheries sector, address challenges, and explore innovative solutions for increasing production and exports. Industry stakeholders, including fish farmers, exporters, and policymakers, are expected to participate in discussions focusing on sustainable fishing practices, technology integration, and market expansion to achieve this ambitious target.
India is one of the worlds largest producers and exporters of seafood, and initiatives like this workshop reflect the governments commitment to enhancing its global competitiveness in the sector. The workshop is anticipated to identify key areas for investment and collaboration, aiming to create jobs and boost the economy.
