Rajkumar Hirani Comments on Ranbir Amid Deepikas 8-Hour Shift Controversy

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has commended actor Ranbir Kapoor for his exceptional dedication during the production of the biographical film “Sanju,” which chronicles the life of actor Sanjay Dutt. Hirani disclosed that Kapoor consistently arrived on set at 3 a.m. to undergo extensive makeup sessions lasting 4 to 5 hours, a critical requirement for accurately portraying Dutts character.

Throughout the rigorous filming schedule, which often extended to 12-hour workdays, Kapoor maintained a positive attitude and did not voice any complaints, highlighting his strong commitment to the role. This level of dedication stands in contrast to ongoing discussions within the film industry regarding the push for shorter working hours and improved conditions for actors and crew members.

Hirani pointed out that devoted actors understand the rigorous demands of bringing a project to completion and are willing to make the necessary sacrifices. “Sanju,” released in June 2018, received praise for its performances and storytelling, contributing to conversations about the challenges and expectations of film production in the contemporary landscape. The film was a commercial success and added to Kapoors acclaim as a versatile actor.
