Rammohan Naidu Announces Modis Inauguration of Bhogapuram Airport by End of July
The Union Minister for Civil Aviation announced that the new airport, constructed by the GMR Group on a 2,200-acre site, has officially been completed and is ready for operational use. The airport represents an investment of ₹4,500 crores and is expected to enhance air travel connectivity and efficiency in the region.
In response to this development, various air travelers associations have called for a reduction in the user fees associated with the airport. They argue that lower fees would make air travel more accessible to a broader segment of the population and stimulate increased passenger traffic. The request highlights ongoing concerns regarding the affordability of air travel and the impact of operational fees on consumer choices.
Further discussions regarding user fees and potential adjustments are anticipated as the airport prepares to commence operations. The airports opening is expected to create additional employment opportunities and boost economic activity in the surrounding areas.
