Revenue Minister K. Rajan: No Structural Cracks Found in Wayanad Township Homes

The Minister conducted an inspection of the housing units designated for the survivors of the 2024 landslide in the affected township. During the visit, the Minister noted the presence of marks on several units, which have been attributed to water seepage.

In light of the issues observed, the Minister emphasized the importance of addressing these concerns to ensure the safety and comfort of the residents. Authorities will be looking into the causes of the water seepage and exploring potential solutions to prevent further damage.

The township was established to provide shelter for those displaced by the landslide, which had a significant impact on the local community. The government has pledged resources to support the recovery and rebuilding efforts, aiming to create a safe living environment for all affected individuals. Further assessments will be conducted to determine the extent of the seepage and to implement remediation strategies as necessary.
