Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy Claims Mavigun is a More Cost-Effective Alternative to Amaravati
YSRCP Criticizes CM Chandrababu Naidus Claims on Amaravati Financing
Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has questioned the ability of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to justify the claims that Amaravati, the states new capital, is a self-financing project. Reddy raised concerns regarding Naidus decision to borrow more than ₹47,000 crore for the development of Amaravati, urging the Chief Minister to provide a comprehensive explanation of the financial strategy underpinning the project.
Amaravati was conceptualized as a greenfield capital city intended to serve as a hub for administration and economic growth in Andhra Pradesh. The project has faced scrutiny over its financing and sustainability since its inception. Political analysts suggest that the contrasting views on the funds allocated for Amaravati reflect broader debates over governance and accountability in the states development approach.
The YSRCP has been vocal about issues related to transparency and fiscal management within the state government. As the opposition party prepares for the upcoming elections, financial oversight of major projects like Amaravati is expected to be a pivotal theme in their campaigning strategy.
