According to the National Sample Surveys report titled “Household Social Consumption: Health,” expenditures related to private hospitalizations have been notably higher in both urban and rural areas of the State. This trend has positioned the State among those with the highest levels of out-of-pocket medical expenses (OOPME) for private healthcare.
