Telangana Government Plans to Accelerate Greater Hyderabad Expansion by Merging 24 Municipalities by 2025.

The Telangana government announced plans to expedite the expansion of Greater Hyderabad by merging 24 municipalities into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) by the year 2025. This initiative aims to enhance urban infrastructure and improve governance across the merging localities.

The decision comes in response to the growing population and urbanization challenges faced by the Hyderabad region. Currently, Greater Hyderabad encompasses several municipalities, and the integration of additional areas is expected to streamline administrative processes and facilitate better service delivery for residents.

The Chief Minister of Telangana highlighted that this expansion will not only help in efficient management of resources but also accelerate the development of essential services such as transportation, sanitation, and public health in the newly incorporated areas.

As part of the governments strategy, stakeholders, including local leaders and the public, will be consulted to ensure a smooth transition and address any concerns related to the merging of municipalities.
